One Dead In Ferocious Overnight East Orange Fire

UPDATE: A 76-year-old man who lived alone was killed in a ferocious overnight fire that ravaged his East Orange, authorities confirmed.

The body of Albert Prince was found on the first floor of the Hawthorne Avenue home off Winthrop Terrace around 2:15 a.m. Monday, April 11, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II said.

Prince was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators were trying to determine what caused the blaze, which consumed much of the house. It was deemed a two-alarmer on arrival and was declared under control around 4 a.m.
